Heatshield in the middle of the floor has came off

Default Heatshield in the middle of the floor has came off

The heat shield on my brother's mk1 focus was dragging the floor,sounded like a shovel being dragged lol.Its to dark to see now but are these things easy to put back on?its been noisy for a while now so it must of just came off.

Just rip it off. Took them off of my old st170 as they were rattling.

It's probably rusted through so you'll need a new one.

It's a bit tricky to get over the exhaust and you may need to bend it a bit and/or drop the exhaust off the hangers to get it on but they're fairly cheap. You'll also need new hex nuts as they're not really reusable.

I wouldn't leave it off personally, you'll probably damage the underseal and transfer heat into the cabin when it gets really hot...not sure if it could start a fire but it may be a possibility.

I took mine off years ago. I have had absolutely no adverse effects at all. I got sick of trying to fasten them with new washers. The only one I left on was near the flex pipe so I wouldn't feel any heat under the dashboard.

im debating on pulling mine off i cant stand the rattling there's like 20 sections of the shite and its all rotting i tried to fasten it back up a few days ago and the edge of it sliced my finger

I did all that. If you do remove it, loosen some of the hangers. It will be alot easier.

the stuff is like thick tin foil you can tear it, i removed some of the sections because they were rattling no adverse effects either
