Ice Ice Baby - Mk3 Escort Saloon
Right, i've done a cabriolet (well, i'm working on one), so i decided it's time for a saloon.
I've been meaning to get one for a while, and finally ordered one today (along with some milliput!)
The plans are simple. Keep the body standard(ish), fill it with ICE, and give it some nice power (maybe retro style BDA?)
This is the model i've ordered:

And here are some of the things i have planned for it, things are changing constantly, such as wheels, seats etc...

Then i started messing about with my Minichamps Sierra, and ended up with these being left over:

So they'll be going on!
I'll be sure to get plenty of pictures when it gets here, and i will keep you updated as and when things happens.
Cheers!
PS - if anyone has any speakers/tv's/other ice, let me know!
Cheers

haha, naah, this is a keeper matey!
and i have some other wheels for the sierra...
Got a nice suprise when i came in from school today. 2 boxes, one small, one big...
i opened the small one to find 2 boxes of milliput
i then opened the big one, to find this!

So i got it out the box...

And removed all of the packaging, and it really is a very nice model!

But it didn't stay like that for long!
First mod was some new shoes :

I then got it partially stripped :

Done some work on the suspension while i've been offline...

Obviously, the left hand side was slammed, and the right hand side was purely for comparison.
Here are a few before and after shots :

So i left it like this for a while(only been working on the rears), and went to go have some tea!

Here is the front compared to the back :

So yes, there was a fair difference!
But as these next two photos show, they sat way too far in the arches for my liking

So some modifications had to be made(...)
So after an hour of 'Umming' and 'Ahhing', i finally ended up with this. The arches are neatly filled, and it even has some slight negative camber at the front!

Then i took a few quick pictures with the Cabby :

And started with the ICE - a PS2 and a small TV:

I also de-badged the boot while i was on, but i didn't get a picture unfortunately
I'm pretty happy with the stance now, so it's time to move onto other things!

BIG update today!
Telly and new gearknob/gaitor in place of the old centreconsole and Sierra RS front seats

The boot install

Where the rear seats once were...

And a final overview

Aswell as the stuff you see on the pictures, i have also added Sierra RS Coswroth rear brakes and calipers, a slightly bigger, but not too big backbox, and a few other little tweaks.
But for now, i'll leave you with a final pic of how it sits now!

It's finished lads! (and i even found a set of 5 centrecaps!)

and the engine choice...i know its a bit overdone, but it just looks so good in there!

and back in its box ready for ebay!

and a final list of all the mods (which is taken from my ebay ad plan) :
BMW 7 Series front springs - The model that supplied the springs cost Ł15
Sierra 2.0 Cosworth YB engine and engine components - The model to supply the Cosworth parts cost Ł35 alone
A back box and front pipe were then fitted from the same Sierra Cosworth
A 3 spoke steering wheel was also fitted from the Sierra Cosworth
A full set (5) of Cosworth alloys were then fitted from the Sierra Cosworth, with lower profile tyres, and a FULL set (5) of centrecaps, all in good condition . These were screwed on propperly, not stuck on so they are static
The rear lights were smoked
Plenty of ICE (see pics)
The suspension was then lowered
I custom made my own strut tops
The seats were then removed, and two seats from the Sierra Cosworth were also fitted
The boot was then de-badged, to add to the look of the smooth bodywork
I also converted the car to disc brakes all round
Aswell as the Ł38 this model cost me, i also bought another escort for Ł27, which was used as a parts donor for this car.
