Yep, that my brother in law's old car. wghen he bought it about 4 years ago, it had just had a full paint with all new glass, lights and all the rubbers. it was completely standard on the outside except the rims were diamond cut!
dynamat everywhere
when my brother in law got it, we stripped everything out of the engine bay and he had it all painted to match the body work, we fitted cossie front and rear brakes so he'd have much better stoppers but still keep the series one rims on. all the brake pipes were binned and replaced from the master cylinder back with braided items.
new ford rad, grs chareg cooler set up, cossie 2wd turbo and .48 housing, big valve head and the 1800 zetec bottom end. it's got quite a long ratio box in it, koni's and spax - 3omm springs. it'd had a little bit of welding underneath but nothin major.
we had a running in chip and setup done at grove garage then i ran it in for him, i think he drove it once or twice then sold it and bought a cossie and a new BM!!
It was / is a lovely car but the bloke at R tec i think bought it then couldn't afford to run it / get it fully set up as it just sat there forever!

Good luck paul, will be a beasty!! fuck your luck though getting all the sound deadening out

The work has begun.

Started stripping down the front:- (dynamat under the bonnet )

Lifted the carpet to find the worst of it, mainly surface rust but will still have it all cut out!

The bloody dynamat starting that tomorrow

Gadge let me know if you can see what your after, I think its the one with the Clifford switch.

Heat gun was great for getting the dynamat off, got a crazy blister thou from the scraper (ah my soft hands!) even got the missus to do a bit

Even managed to get most of the original ford stuff off.
Was a little disheartened when I discovered both the fucking doors are covered in dynamat aswell

Twins, can you get those light hole/surround things for series 1's?

Done plenty in the last couple of days. Kits off, 75% of the dyna mat/orignal ford deadening is of. Dash is out. Lights out.
Gonna start making a shopping list of parts needed then start getting quotes for the body work.
Bastard car is so fucking low with cut springs got the jack stuck twice now any one got any standard springs???

Its everywhere! in the doors, in the rear quarters under the bonnet.
Getting sick of it!

Picked up the new front wings yesterday and the new front panel will be arriving shortly.

Need to source an off side front bumper end cap and front bumper.

Pretty sure I won't get a roof skin minus sunroof now so I quess it will be up to the skills of the body shop

S1 my old shell is getting the works ... maybe we should swap PF usernames Paul R <-> S1 lol
