Unless you have a grand going spare, I'd not bother thinking about it too much...basically you need a Fiesta Turbo, and transplant the engine and ECU etc.

Converting a RST block and head to EFI isn't going to be worth it.

You could do Zetec Turbo for a better price these days.

fook me , hear we go again ,

1 last time i will say whats roughly needed ,

Will a mod PLEASE PLEASE add some conversion notes to the technical archive .

For starters a FRST engine and head will be needed , block so u have a Crank position sensor and the head/ inlet so u can use electronic injectors ,

a cheeting way is to use a XR2i or a Xr3i ( efi ) engine and fit low comp pistons or a set of standard RST ones .

The Flywheel from these EFI engines will also be needed ,

The best loom to use is a XR3i ( efi ) escort one , the whole loo will fit straight into you RSTand will be the easiest to fit ,

Dont forget youll need the clocks aswell as the rev counter will only be half true if you use the ERST standard ones ( EFI uses wasted spark and only measures 2 of the sparks so to speek)

Now u have the new loom their are 2 wires to change ,

firstly find pin 27 in the main ecu plug , brown wire !!!! move this to pin 8 ,

Next go to the EDIS module and find the second wire in , ( blue and yellow , ) either remove this or cut the wire and tape it up .

that is the loom now up to FRST spec .

Youll obviously need a Fiesta ECU , OFAC or OFAB , and a map sensor ( OFAC and OFAB ae different so get the right one )

U need the FRST inlet charge temop sensor aswell ( available from ford) these are NOT THE SAME as the rst ones , U NEED THE FRST ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plug it all in , plumb all the engine in and turn the key ,

it realy is that simple , if you want any more info please feel free to call on the number below .

oh forgot to say thet the turbo will need to have a return plumbed in

hope this helps guys

Converting a EFI XR3i or XR21 is much easier than doing a ERST to EFI - due to the reasons Lee just described. It's still gonna cost you over 500 quid, unless you get a OFAC/OFAB, turbo, hosing and piston set cheap.

You don't have to do it the hard way. You could just always get a complete cvh efi inlet, bigger injectors and a management like the under 100Ł Megasquirt and your done. The inlet fits the head nicely without any adaptor plates. Just grind away a little material from the head.

Not necesarily, ive made up a complete CPS bracket setup, with billey modified ERST pulleys and an adjustable alternator bracket, using the 1.8cvh parts as a base. Saves swapping engines, and the pulley and bracket can be fitted in situ.

Adapter plate for the efi manifold, save grinding the head, and getting swarf in the bores.

Just need to get the 5-6 wires for the multi plug sorted
