Drag Radials....
Hi,
I am after a pair of 205/50x15 (or similar) drag radials and I was hoping one of you might know the best place to get some and how much they are likely to cost me.
cheers, chad.

TBH mate 205/50/15 isnt ideal.
Thats quite slim and low profile, not suited for drag tyres that are made to crease on launch to get maximum traction (2ply sidewalls and only pumped upto 15psi max)
Your better off with as big a sidewall as poss, prob more important (for the above reasons) than how wide they are.
You care if they road legal or not? If not id just get some non road legal ones like MickeyT's etc.
If you do want ones of that profile then BFG drags (steet legal) are available in that size.
Higher profiles on smaller wheels (14s?) would be better tho.
Can get upto 275 wide on 15s of most makes.
DannyB off here (ie Huaser Racing) can get most types.

cheers pal.
to be honest the car will be set to run 215/40x17 for everyday usage so a tyre of similar diameter to that should be fine, although the drag tyres will be fitted to a 7" rim.
also, i am not really bothered about them being road legal so prob would go for the 'proper' ones
is this danny guy ok? i.e. will he mind me pm'ing him?
cheers, chad

i got tim's (butch) old grey shed. its a bit of a snotter, slight front ender at brunters through the tyres, and slight rear ender from some van driver (but thats hidden by the bumper anyway) and generally snotty but its got all the right bits (well it does now) so im gonna rag the bloox off it this year than maybe re-shell it into my mint mk2 xr2.
just fitting my cossie management, with custom side entry plenum
, and greys, and maybe a different intercooler then sending it to oli to sort the brakes and mot and she should be mint for 2bar held on the t34 with my bernie box with tran-x diff. yipeee. cant wait, only took me 3 years to get a fast car.

BFG drag radial's are constructed to work just as well being low profile so ignore whats said above although there is a little sense
i know for fact 225/50x15's work awsome and 225/40x17's work equally aswell. if you can fit either one of these you'll be happy with the grip, other options for treaded DOT tyres are the nitto's and the new MT's, Dont go for MT slicks as the MT street radial is far better grip despite not being a full slick. We can supply ANY drag radial so CALL for prices, there is also a nice Hoosier drag radil just come out. BFG's are best to you size options. as they do a 205/50 15 and also a 205/40 17.
Hope this helps.
