and today (20th January 2011) as went out for a spin and stopped for lunch



Bored of it? Not really.

Maybe time for an Imola Red E46 M3 with a bit of saving, we'll see how it goes.

Anybody owned one longer?

most i have ever owned a car for is 3 years i think

Bought my Sapphire 6th August 2001.
Never regretted owning it, probably never sell it either

 

I must say, if I'd owned it for ten years, I think selling it would be a bit tricky.

Think it's something you might regret later!

 

got the pf mag feature to this car great story about u thought of giveing up when the box gave out great motor was only reading the mag it was in the other week

7 years end of this month for me & my Series1.

Don't know why, but I always thought yours was a 2 wheeler!

I've owned my Escort for over five year now.

 

I have had mine since 1991 same color, I took a 5 grand loan out last summer to add to the sale of mine to go down the M3 route.

Yes the money is still siting in the bank I couldn't bring myself to do it

Smittybear, would you just stick the Saph in the garage if you got an Imola M3.. because like someone said above, it'll be real tough to let go of after all that time mate.

so far your all a bunch of amateurs i have owned my mk2 escort for 24 years

or does that make me sad

 

i struggle to keep a car at all i get bored so quick lol

think the lonest car i had was 2yrs and the longest rs ive had was 13months and it was a project lol

 

Also had my saph 10 years this march and was my brothers b4 me for 4 years 14 years in the family.

 

Had the escort 16 years now

 

16months, judging by this thread I best get out while I can lol

Come the 21st of April i'll have had mine for 10yr's.

 

I've had my old girl coming upto 16 years, still smile as wide when I drive it now as I did when I first bought it

I bought my 3 dr in May 01, sold feb 02, bought back oct 08.

Can't imagine what it'd be like having had it all along!

 

After owning it for 10yrs now it's kinda become a part of me!

But i'm always thinking is it time to move on...........

And how difficult it would be putting it up for sale!

Hi ... I got my Saph 22/12-1995 ... kind of a X-mas present to myself ... ... so have now passed 15 year mark, and hoping to keep it for loooong time

had mine 5 months and love it, even thow it is costing me on avarige Ł1000 a month to take it from standard to stage 3 and now 2 stage 4. love it well done with 10 years thats mint

 

i Paid Ł6100 for it, had a stage 2 Collins chips and 355 injectors with 85k on the clock. I had to rollered the next week and made 302 @15lb boost. only had a T3 so went really really well

So ten years later she now has a low comp engine 7.8:1 Harvey Engine, Bernie Gearbox, Tommy Field T34 Turbo, Compomotive Wheels, GGR Shafts, Avo suspension and Ap brakes.

Glad i upgraded properly, mainly thanks to Mike Rainbird

The car has now covered 130 so 45k miles in ten years ain't bad

 

I must've bought mine just after yours SMIT, in March it'll be 10 years.
Not sure what I'm gonna do with it TBH, never have time to get near it and I think it's probably done about 300 miles in the last 5 years.
Just boutght a new house and move in 3 weeks so after about another 6 months I might actually get the car over and do something with it, but I'm not making any promises. It probably needs about Ł400 to get it up and through an MOT, but I'm happy pottering about detailing the M5 in my spare time, how times change.

 

Nice work Smit - nice to see some enthusiasm for them and a well looked after example

Had mine 12 years and no intention to sell it .

It's the Ford that beat the best M3 ever made ( according to most M3 comparisons )

Owned my escort 5 years

 

I've only been driving for 5 and a half years, had my sierra for 4 years. Just goes to show how old you all are lol

 

Lol you say that now, I bought mine when I was 21, I'll be 32 this year and still got it.
