Hi people, my 89 2wd saph battery is currently dead and I need a new battery. Everyone keeps telling me I need an 097 one from Ford, but after speaking to them they say this means nothing. They have offered me two;

60ah 590
71ah 650

Does anyone know the finis for the correct battery and they are also telling me they may not fit in the tray.

at a lose end here.

You want one with the higher spec i.e. 71ah 650

Its very hard to find square terminals anymore so you may need to convert them to round terminal (Halfords sell the terminals)

 

no problems down in cornwall

 

i got one recently from alpha batteries, correct 097 battery, gonna try and swap the motorcraft stickers off me old one
