Default Clapped this milestone in yesterday, 200k

She ticked over the 200 just as I pulled into services on the m3 so I treated her to £20 of stinky stuff lol

2001 Y Mondeo 2.0 TDDI
200,000 miles

200k = 8 x the circumference of planet earth!

Good old bus.
I know 200 is nothing for some of the taxi's and german gear about but pretty good for a mondy?

Anyone else got a car with moon mileage?

My old LWB Transit had 375,000 on the clock when I finally changed it, all motorway miles and it never hardly missed a beat, but all I used to treat mine to was the occasional fresh sump full of oil, usually after seeing the oil light come on

Pretty average for those engines. I've seen them with almost 400k on the clock still on the same engine.

I think its got another 50k in it so the moon looks attainable!

I've pedalled 64 of those 200k so far thats sixtyfour fullstop. miles

It had a clutch and fly at 170 looking through the history.

I wouldn't fancy driving this at 400k to be honest.

We have 2 passat estate tdi's (1998 and 1999 sports) ones on 165k the other 190k odd.

Both of those cars I can imagine driving well still at 400k

TDDI lumps are good, TDCI suffer the old injector problems

My ma used to have a volvo 740SE petrol and that had done 240,000 if that counts
When we used to run a garage there was allways something that had been to moon and back. The best ones were the twelve month old cars with 100k on them. Some people must live in thier cars .

I did see a passat with 430k on it in the auctions last year,ex taxi but sounded sweet.also a nice Volvo s80 on 300k,not even worn inside!!!

My mate bid on a transit connect which looked well but he forgot to read the info,324k,ouch!!!!

Luckily in Leominster you have 2 separate auctions and in the commercial one there's nowhere to pay so they trust you to go into the other hall to pay so he just dissapeared!!!

Hey man when you were after info on Vercta sri dti's i bashed out half a page on everything you need to know about them and i also mentioned how good omegas are especially when they are the manual dti's 2.2.

unfortunately man the page went bad and i lost it all,so you got a 22 diesel omega did you ?? theres a good website called oof omega owners forum where you can find out allsorts but the beauty is theres loads of help running one at sensible money.

i know a cosworth expert who had loads of omegas and had at the same time a 1 owner 02 plate 22 dti with 49k miles genuine and one with 250k miles 1 owner and full vx main dealer history on a 03 plate and they both drove the same, thats how good they are if looked after correctly.

don't forget to irmscher the big girl up as they look the part man

The old man's Passat 1.9 TDi tit-tronic sport, 53 plate, has 286k up her and he's owned it from new. He's replaced the alternator and rear shocks but that's it other than serviceable items. It's still on it's original exhaust and battery, it is coming up for it's 5th cambelt shortly though lol!

I had an 02 TDDi estate, 200k+ and drove like new, tight fast and good on fuel, did a 30 mile run one day on the autobaurn at a speedo reading of 130mph, so went well as well.

Just shows what a reasonably well maintained engine is capable of, seems to almost be the norm nowadays. Cars are lasting longer and longer and rust is not really a big issue.
The M5 currently has 105k on the clock, not sure if I will keep long term it or sell it on depending on the running costs, but I know it'll still be a great car with atleast another 50-60k miles on it.

I just hope I can get the same out of my st tdci!!

Although it did need new injectors at only 36k!!! Thankfully it was warranty work!

My old Focus tddi had 180k when I got rid of that, never missed a beat!
