Default Fiesta give away!

Iv just past my test start of jan this year, iv been on my mums insurence on her mk 5 fiesta, its a 1.6i. my grandad just foned me up and says he can get me a mk2 fiesta for nothing, its a 1.1 and belongs to an old man who's retiring.

So i had a quick browse on ebay for xr2 parts, as it wouldn't stay standard for very long lol.

The MOT is nearly up and the last MOT it had welding done then so apparently is pretty ok, body work needs tidying as theres a few blisters here and there.My dad has a friend who's a tester who going to look at the car to see if it will pass MOT with next to no work or expense.

so do you think its worth it getting the car MOTing it and using it to build an xr2 replica and then wen insurence has dropped abit(only 17) putting in the 1.6 engine in?

get the car

learn to drive

then in about a years time, change for a slightly faster car, and dont waste money swapping engines, as so much other stull will need upgrading too;

your point is? Nah they're top little cars, handle much better than the mk3's and really simple to maintain/upgrade

im with HIC, used to be with liverpool victoria. maybe give them a try? Also add a woman with lots of no claims onto your policy as 2nd driver, that way your policy goes down as they assume that theyll be driving for some of the time and u still get your ncb

I had a mk2 for a first car - did it up to look like an XR2, never bothered changing the engine but it was still alot of fun round the lanes!

Have fun!

I wouldn't bother with fully comp until you get a car with some value.
