Well, thats me kept my nose clean for a year after my ban, so my 1.4 corsa SRi goes away tomorrow to a local lad and Ive bought myself a Corsa VXR Arctic.

Even though they mostly all look the same, I thought Id post up some pics! Dont get it until Thursday, but took some pics from the garage its sitting. Cannot wait to get it!

Its just turned 2 years old 2 weeks ago, only has 8500 miles on it. Was very happy with the car on the test drive i gave it, love the sound of that Remus!

Just a standard VXR but with white paint, gloss black wheels, Full sliding glass sunroof (its huuuuuuge), Remus pre cat & backbox, 205bhp (15 more than standard)

 

Cool! Bet it goes alright with a tad over 200

It looks mint and they sound real smart too, the astra Vxr sound mad, always popping away are the nurburg ones

 

Aye its the Remus that makes the Nurb pop and bang. Does it in this too, its pretty cool

Thorney Motorsport do stages up to 250bhp, whilst still keeping my vauxhall warranty. Think the 1st stage is remap to 225bhp.

 

Bet they get a chomp on with 250, my escorts bloody quick with 250 round the little roads round here

nice cars test drove one a couple years ago, word of warning they are prone to melt piston 4 if remapped anywhere over 220bhp this was found to be injector 4 not supplying enough fuel, easily sorted with a set of uprated injectors (maybe astra vxr) cant remember off top my head.

 

Yeah Ive read up them and read about the piston no4. Ive joined up to the forums so got a bit of info on the problem. Its a very small percentage its happening to, but still, shouldnt be happening! Thorney Motorsport have looked into it and apparently it was one certain tuner who was mapping it incorrectly. Have a wee read if you get a chance its quite interesting:

Its still under warranty till December anyway, more than enough time to save up for some forged pistons & steel rods!

Dunno why vauxhall didnt use forged pistons from the start, seems silly!

 

Ugly looking car if you ask me.I would be gutted if i had a new car and it melted the pistons.

It is pretty silly about the pistons though, but as said, its a very small percentage!

think the pistons all comes down to cost. i really liked the one i test drove and hear nothing but good things about them when modded especially on the suspension front.

 

think i seen the weight of these at 1166kg ?

Looks good Poldo - these got a really good write up in Evo mag when they first came out. My workmate has one, so must get out in it sometime.

 

looks smart matey i have one of these not an arctic just a normal red one had it a year now its around 230bhp piston 4 is made out of cheese on these though in 3 years my car has had 3 new engines lol
