Not being sarcastic but are you sure you locked it? I can't think of any other way of getting in without doing any damage unless it's remote locking and they were infared whizzkids!!

Any number of ways!
Coat hanger down the window seal..
Push something through the door seal and pull the pin up..

Escorts are a piece of piss to get into without leaving any damage lol

I locked my keys in my old escort enough times (dumb blonde yes I know) all you gotta do is take the bottom window seal off, put your fingers in the gap and pull, the metal bows outwards without creasing, then you just put your hand down and activate the locking mechanism. The door pushes back into its original shape and the window seal fits back on perfectly.

Old Vauxhalls are the easiest by far, but Escorts mk3 / 4 come a close runner up

just because a car is de-locked makes no difference, the mechanism is still there, there is just no key hole for it.

sufsRS,
if its a s2, then i knw this is daft but true: my m8s key oens my door but doesnt put the ignition on thats scary aint it!!!!
Your door locks are the wrong way round (Presumably YOU have one key which locks and unlocks them both) You have the driver lock on passenger door etc.... which means pretty much ANY ford key will unlock your door..... go on try it at the next meet.... Most for d keys will lock most ford locks but wont unlock

HTH

townie9371,
it was a series 2 rst.does coat hanger trick or door seal trick really work on my car??????
Yup.... there is a little lever inside you door on the catch which is attatched to a little rod which is in turn usually attached to the door lock, this lever can be pushed / pulled from outside, when I delocked my old esc, I cut the levers off the catch, so this couldnt be done.... Mind you as above, this was back int hte day when it was less common for doors to be bent out ... I wasnt wrried about a btroken window lol
