on the misses laptop she has vista and at the bottom right theres sometimes a message pop up saying windows has blocked some programmes from starting etc, how do i stop that? can i go into services in control panel and stop it that way or something? im pretty sure theres a way of stopping it, just cant remember how

Sounds like there's a virus on there to me, I had one like that on my laptop on XP and it was a fake antivirus software.

 

Virus? its the windows vista thingy that stops programmes starting, i just want to stop that?

Laptop is running perfectly with avast on it

Ps, if i right click on the icon near the clock it says "run blocked start up items, fwupdate" whatever that is

 

My daughters pc does same.....
