hi all,
none are road legal as all are real race cars and allways have been,
new white car is built by andy rouse and raced by him and alain ferte in the french championship in 88
bolt in cage as when rouse built it in late 87 it would have had an alloy cage,
most sierra rs500 built before 89 had alloy cages,
except the eggnburger cars, which allways used a full weld in cage,
my labatts car is 89 built so full weld in cage,
there you go.

Sir,
you have my most sincere and envy wrought congratulations.
You would appear to have been blessed with the finest garage this side of Brunei.
I doth my cap reverentially in your general direction.
On spying the pictures of said hallowed structure and the contents therein, I laughed like an idiot on methamphetamine, hardly believing the apparent mirage before me.
So traumatised was I, that I felt compelled to put pen to paper. Then thought f*ck that, the computer's easier.
The shock of seeing it in real life would surely be too much for the human mind to contemplate and would almost definitely result in shock/stroke, followed by, coma and possibly fatal collapse.
I would like to take this opportunity to praise you; not only for your exsquisite taste in automotive erotica, but also your superb ability to spend your apparently not insubstantial wealth on just the right things.
Whoever said 'the best things in life are free' was obviously a liar, a f*cking idiot, a complete mental, or totally unaware of the cost of an ex TC RS500.
However, please see fit to attach a health warning to the front of the building so as to prevent the potential shock related deaths of mere mortals with a penchant for rarer and finer examples of the blue oval's offspring.
Yours, with unbridled jealousy and undiluted envy,
SVM 286
P.S. If you were ever to find yourself tired with the effort of maintaining, running and owning any of these wild animals, and came over all charitable, I would be more than happy to relieve your burden and take charge of all owning and driving duties for a nominal fee.

What is the rear suspension set up? Looks like adjustable spring platform and modded rear arms?? Any idea of the spring rates?
Are the strut top mounts eccentric type? Got some to fit on mine sometime.

hi all,

top mount are the same as well,
no idea off spring rates yet, but there be solid for sure,
sold my road car to make room for the new race project,
this car came up chance,
as i was going to get a fiesta zytec,
racing in the ford formula saloons in class A
will be in the same class as the yellow ex rouse car and all the big power escorts!
same class,
but different rules,
like the escorts cosworths can run 18" wheels and water injection,
where as i will run 17" wheels and no water injection,
as per the rules,
its all worked out on whot the car had when new from ford,

QUICK UPDATE,
i know have comfurmation from rouse that this car,
was the car that andy rouse and allan moffat used at bathurst in 87 and lead for 33 laps before the gearbox gave up,
so this is the ORIGINAL ANZ CAR!!
also it did spa 24 hr in 87 and came sixth,
then did the french champonship in 88 with rouse and alain ferte and again won its class! and just missed wining the championship,
so a bit more special than even i thought,
needless to say the ANZ graphics will go back on.

have you got any advise on buying a rs500 look alike is it worth it? it has all genuine parts on it but it isnt the moonstone blue colour it is slightly lighter. it is a 1.6 with standard wheels on it and everything pm me plz. cheers
as for buying a copy,
look at the car very close and check to see if they have used genuine spoilers and bumper ect,
as with the front bumper and gen splitters with both gen rear spoilers you are looking at about Ł1500 just for theses parts,
so if its cheap enough as a copy and has good bits on there you can not go far wrong,
the new car was a lucky find as was not advertised, i found out it was for sale by talking to a chap at autosports, who was looking at my labatts car,
i was not even looking to buy another sierra, i was going to buy a mondeo or fietsa,
i looked at two mondeo super tourers and they looked to much work to keep them racing, so i was going to get a fiesta race car, i even looked at a couple,
but this one was such a good deal and with big spares package, that i could not turn it down,
the bonus is now i have traced its history and found it to a special car,
the guy who owned it did not know anything about race sierra and did not even know rouse built it,
needless to say i looked at the car and shook my head and then made him an offer,
i would say it was about 10k cheaper than he could have got for it if he addvertised it,

the guy only wants 1200 for the car and they are all genuine parts the whole car is made of the rs500 im only 17 but a love these cars they are so great im 18 in 2 weeks and im looking at another ford when im older i will probably put a cossie engine in it and then it will look the dogs i think im on for a winner here cheers mate
