If you build up a good relationship with your Snap On man, just get it all on Rolling Account - I had nearly £2000 on mine at one point Interest free...

I've always found them very expensive.we used to get the mac tools guy and he right pissed me off with my fault code reader telling me that he'd looked after me at £75 then the prick put vat on at the end even though I paid cash.

I told him to fuck off and he dropped it but be careful.

It's easy to get carried away with all those pretty tools on display some of which are criminally expensive.often their not snap on or mac either but Kennedy or britool which you can get anywhere cheap as fuck.

Tbh mate if your after tools I'd stick to halfords if your starting out as their really good value, even machinemart etc as their half the price and are pretty robust.I'm still using my 1/2" drive from halfords I bought in 1993!!!!

It's that high because most of the stuff brought on finance is paid off in less than 6 months

I have a big Snap On obsession and have spent almost as much as i paid for my last house

Finance is only expensive if you use the Snap On EC(Extended Credit) if you just have a revolving account with your dealer it`s not a problem...

Steer clear of ebay, it`s a weird Snap On phenomena that puts at least 50% on the prices and nobody can explain it...... I know a guy who makes a living out of buying of the Snap On van at retail money and putting it all straight on ebay and making at least 50% profit

Halfords Pro and Britool are pretty good too but i don`t think they have the longevity of Snap On..... I have a 69 year old Ferret F70 ratchet and it`s still mint condition and has only just had it`s first ratchet kit

I got a screwdriver set from the snap on van and it was WAY cheaper than ebay. What i paid got you the same set minus the ratchet driver, which IIRC was £40ish to buy alone...

i have a halfords professional toolbox, its ok,broke most of the torq bits, the small ratchet doesnt have a deep 13mm socket, the 1/2 sockets are that multidrive cut so do round off bolts, does for working on old cossies and when the bolt has rusted away just smash on an imperial socket that you never need unless you have an ancient landrover!

I got mine off my dealer for £199 and they came with a free set of short ones....

I reckon dealers do try it on and if you bite they just take your money and smile, you gotta be a bit savvy and push them for any deals you can

Only way to go mate ...

My metric / Imperal sets are all black ... The dealer will say they aint produced but use the catalogue ..

Its 40% at least cheaoer than the chrome stuf ... you identify your stuff without engraving ..
