Default Cobra and Corbeau bucket seats opinions please.

I looking at getting bucket seats for the car and like the look of these two,

http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/cobra-...eat-p-446.html

http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/corbea...eat-p-881.html

Any opinions on any of the seats or makes appricated and also is there any other places to try for a better price?

cheers

Its going to be for a track car as the car still just has the standard trim in it!

I will be going to try them out in demon tweeks first for size.

Got a set of cobra evo's from Reyland and cant remember paying anywhere near that. If i was to buy another set i'm not sure i would go for the same design. If its a 100% track car then yes but if its to be used on road aswell i'm no longer keen on the big loops as they do restrict vision a little.

Cheers everyone, Just pm'ed tony

Yer it will only be used on track. Do the alloy side mounts just bolt down to the factory holes? ( Its in a mk1 focus)

cheers

you will need to buy the side mounts separate... you would either need to weld in bars for the seats to sit on or bolt them to your seat frames/aftermarket ones.

Try as many different makes of seats you can, don't discount some std fit seats that may be a better price as well.

due to poor vision with the winged seats i think these are worth considering too

http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p1...duct_info.html

i have these ready for my fiesta cossie, i couldn't use the winged evolution as the wing fouled the rollcage so got these instead as they are the sme seat without the wing.

Have you got any pics of the seat rails you had welded in your fez?

cheers

most likely by protecting from a very heavy side impact, if they would have fitted in the fiesta i would of had them, but unfortunately they didnt so had to choose another seat

a bad crash basicly which tbh could happen to anyone ! the wheel and drive shaft seperated from a focus john cross used to race and part of the shaft came through the screen ripped the left ear off the seat and carried on through the car if the car didnt have those seats fitted the helmet would of took the full impact

This is absolutley the whole point just here ^^ !

Competition seats are designed to have very high/deep sides to stop the driver moving about under heavy cornering , in a competiton situation you put the driver in the seat and hope he stays there until after the event ! If youre hopping in and out going to the shops or whatever then its a really bad choice to have deep seats and they will piss you off .
Ive watched this thread without replying about prices or whatever because of this ,now i'll sell you whatever you want but be sure youre asking for the right thing 1st !

that is a seriously unlucky thing to happen to have parts of the drivetrain enter the car but as you say these things do happen.

I have a carbon corbeau revolution in the excel (fatty) size, its pretty comfortable, holds you in well and is light at about 6.5kg or so.No compalaints about it at all to be honest but im about to change to an evolution pro as I want to reposition the seat and the corbeau is too wide at the top to go where I would like it.

PS.I imagine in regular use it would be a right pain in the arse!

Cheers Ross.

I had cobra suzuka's in my rs turbo track car and loved them, really snug and supportive and surprisingly comfortable.....as said they need to be snug and made a big difference over using standard seats for track driving as you're not struggling to stay in the seat through the bends!
Still got the seats and harnesses from breaking the car in case i get another track car as the prices seem to rocket every year!

I'm not very big but I had the normal version before an they were tight,

Have gone for the gt width now, best to always go gt width for passenger seat.

Im 34 waist,6'2-ish,13 stone and the wider width is about the mark for me,if anything I could do with it ever so slightly narrower but my fat arse wont go anywhere near the standard corbeau seats!

It was the standard revolution i tried so there might be a difference,it wasnt so much fitting in the seat as such I just found it a bit restrictive on my legs for the pedals.
