I don't get the whole "non-standard" plates thing.

It's a German car (unless it's one of the South African ones), but the steering wheel is in the wrong place to be "German", so why bother?

If your moving to Germany and registering the car there then get the german plates. If it's staying in the UK then get the UK plates.

I run a German style plate on the front of my Audi. Not to everybody's taste but I like them. You can't complain when you get pulled up for it and have to pay Ł60.

Dubmeister does legal 'german' plates? Personally I've never understood the fascination with private or 'different' plates. Plain reg plates look the best imo.

No they dont mate

They do UK style legal pressed metal ones, they are not German style apart from being pressed metal

german plates on a uk registered car are gay. why pretend to be in germany when your not??

number plates are a necessary legal evil not a style icon.

My neighbouring workshop put German stylee ones on his 3 series with the sticker in the middle etc Managed 3 commutes before having to change them back at the roadside. This was between Herts and Beds on lanes not worth the bother IMO Even my bike has a full size plate on now

I've done 40,000 miles since mine went on and I've had 1 fine of 60 quid.
