I think it would be rather difficult, but achievable. I can only envisage total replacement of the roof, rather that than just trying to patch the hole with a measure piece of metal.

New roof-skin, I'd say.

And where you will find one of those now is anyone's guess.

Will be a new roof skin to do it. Or at least someone very handy with a wielder, but then again there is not guarantee it will come off straight.

Either way, your looking at spending a lot to get it done. Carbon roof? I used to have those fantasies until I realized that to do something like that would basically cost about 10 times more than the cars worth.

In which case, your gonna be spending mega bucks on it anyway, so go for a full skin. You wont get the same strength out of it if you just wield in a plate.

i would deffo put a new roof skin on we do them at work alot but unless you can do it yourself its not going to be cheap sourcing the skin may be a problem aswell unless you got a complete shell with roof you want then cut it off and trim it back is it going to be a track car what about covering with a carbon fibre panel lad i know did it on his e30 looked good for a track car

you can put the carbon roofs for mk4's straight on top of original roof if you desire as that is what twins did with his rst iirc. that way you shouldnt need to add a cage also. they are about £400 i think

While you can, and they look nice, it kinda defeats the point of just putting it on your normal roof

kind of but not really as you are doing away with the sunroof problem without having to add a cage!
