don't bother with K&N 57i kit you'd prob lose power!

zetecs run very hot and suffer from heat soak, so enclosed inductions only for me

heres my old power engineering one (carbon enclosed with all the silicone hose runing to the grill)

As above, you want an enclosed filter, positioned as far from the engine as possible. The engine bay is very cramped so suffers a lot from heat soak. On my old mk1 focus I just pulled the resonator off the side of the airbox, sounded just the same as an induction kit and didn't cost anything!

i used to have a 57i on my MG ZS, didnt really like it tbh.

i am really looking for an enclosed one like the two i have been looking at, but was wondering if any one could recommend any other enclosed systems.

focusrrx87, how much did that one from power engineering cost and was it any good?

it's pricey. Around 300 quid New.

I sold it to a member on here for £100, hineho87 (i think is his user name) i know he's putting his focus back to standard so he might have it for sale?

worth a try anyway.

yeah it does make a nice difference it was only a 1.8 with that induction kit, 4.2.1 manifold, decat and full system it made 143bhp on the rollers.

cool, an exhaust is next on the list, full stainless manifold, decat and full system.

the viper one does look nice, but its really expensive.

Do you think performace would improve much with an enclosed induc kit and dreamsicence?/ or bluefin (if i cant find dreamscience)

Im after abit more performance as i am going to be lowering it and getting some top of the range brakes and tyres all round, so would like some more bang to go with the handling...

Dreamscience made a noticeable albeit not huge difference to my st170 I've got mine on the race 97 induction map and it gets rid of the flatspots and makes it accelerate harder.

Eibachs for the handling including arb's

As for induction kit I have a k @ n typhoon which although not enclosed does come with a heatshield. I have never had any problems with heatsoak but to be honest apart from the noise it doesn't really make any difference to the car

I've read that people see good results from the standard airbox with a panel filter and a focus auto deflector. I've done the resonator removal and got a K&N panel filter, so far i'm happy with enough to not consider an induction kit.

Apparently thats not quite true, only the tip of the exhaust is stainless, when i removed my standard ST170 exhaust it was in a right old state, i fitted a mongoose in its place and definately felt an improvment in the responce of the engine. A decat sounds terrible on the standard system and it VERY loud
