Default 04 fiesta EAC fail

My car has been spluttering all overthe place ever since I bought it from ford. It's going back nxt week. The problem with it that the engine light was on and spluttering all the time then one night I parked up and in the morning it wouldn't start with eac fail flashing on the dash! It was also making a clicking noise from the glove box area. Never done this before?
Is there anything I can do to get it started as I can't afford to get a tow truck out to tow it back to Arnold. I have seen other problems about EAC fail online but not one where they couldn't get it started.

You bought it in that condition? Jesus.

Erm, EAC fail is common when people change the throttle bodies on their ST's, might be worth having a nose around there? Check the ecu is plugged in correctly possibly. Just root around.

I had this on my 1.4 TDCI not long back. the long and the short is, i spoke to the man that designed the EAC Fail program, he said it was the quickest and easiest way of doing what was asked of him. but there is about 25-30 different things that can make it go into limp home mode. his advise was to have a software update. I did and it's much better now.

Try changing the fuel filter, had one the other week with the same problem, EAC light up, loads of codes in the ECU, all down to a manky fuel filter.

I want a refund lol can't use it and ford can't seem to fix it. Was fine when I bought it just all started a week or so aftr. I will have a look round the throttle body and pedles. Will disconnect the battery also and see what happens. Ford changed the crank sensor and leads but problem still there. Now ford say it's an immoboliser issue?

Yeah, try disconnecting the battery and also try removing the glovebox as the fusebox is behind there, see if there's something obvious like a relay dislodged etc.even try giving them all a tap first to see if the chattering stops.

If you can locate the chattering relay, try swapping it with an identical one in the fuseboard and try starting it then, just to get you there.

I have seen them with electrical problems before caused by water entering the windscreen and running into the fuseboard.mad I know but the screen came out and was resealed and the problem went away after the fuseboard was cleaned up.

Worth a look anyway,literally takes 2 mins.

Ok, it's r6 reley that is ticking. Pulled it out turned on ignition and no ticking and no sound of fuel being pumped. Put it back in and fuel sounds as if it's being pumped and the clicking noise is back. Car still won't start.
Didn't mention before that the engine won't turn over. Unplugged the battery and it's not helped.

By the way, it is totaly wank under there lol.
