Default Series 2 cage

Been fitting a Safety Devices 6 pointer to my RST over the last couple of weeks....thought I'd show you

Its unbelievably tight in the car.... it pressess up hard against the A post, roof and dash (I can't use the glove box anymore ).

Now its time for these

looks good mate, did you seam weld the plates to the floor ??

also when I spoke to SD they told me these;

go under the arches, to make it like a sandwich and prevent the bolts pulling through the ford arch as you tighten them

Damo V - The plates were fully welded in (the pictures just show them tacked before we finished them off.

To be honest I wasn't sure if thoses plates went on top or under but they fitted nicely on top so thats where I put them.

Will probably put some big washers on the underside

No, the plates are in the right place for the MSA logbook rules, it's good to see them finally put in the right place for once! Looks lovely.

You just buy the washers, the theory is that the cage is in so tight it won't pull out as it's resting against the opposites, if you put the plates underneath and don't weld it then it just pushes the cage through the floor in a crash.
