just seen that the escort cosworth small turbo runs a completely different ignition timing setup, can anyone shed some light on it for me please as to how much different it is to using the distributor and if its any better or not?

also does anyone have any piks of the crank trigger pulley and sensor? looks the better way to go when it comes to fitting my cosworth engine surely?

 

The small turbo and large turbo Esc Cos run different ECU setups which require different triggers.

If your fitting a cosworth engine to your 3dr you would want the large turbo type ECU lowest form of a L6 ECU.

This uses a 4 trigger CPS
and also the phase sensor from the Dizzy.

If you dont want to use the dizzy for the phase sensor you an use the GrpA version which is a cam sensor fitted to the camcover which picks up from an extra shaft fitted to the inlet cam.

Or the other method is use a cam trigger disk off the front cam shaft pulley with a custom bracket and sensor.

i dont know much about it atall, is it possible to have the small turbo crank pulley and sensor fitted run the small turbo wireling loom and ecu, blank off where the dizzy would be and use small turbo coil packs or is there alot more to it? if you see me outside working on the car next time your down my road gimme a shout im always out there working on it and ill much appreciate the advice as i cant stand the pinto always running out of time on the ignition and want something more practical when i get the cosworth engine in

 

well for starters i wouldnt use the small turbo setup in the first place.

 

Anyone know of a twin crank sensor bracket available for the cosworth?
