Oh right i didnt know that.

So If anyone works for themselves then they cannot advertise their own personal used goods that they have at home??

It states that gold members can start their own threads.

"Can start new topics with items for sale in the For Sale forums** (Only 4 cars per annum for sale though please)

So how do i go about selling my cars, just register up as a trader for a month then put them in for sale section?

Also what do i get for my Ł10 if i cant sell my own personal car?

Regards

Chris

as i understand it, "trading" as a "trader" and "trading" as a "non trader" are seen as 2 different things

"traders" are people that are seen to be something to do with the car industry mainly, but i think some of the pf builders have also fallen foul of the "trader" rules

if you are simply selling your own car but are still acknowledged as a "trader" then you have to shell out (i think) Ł600 a year to have the trader tag stuck under your name and then you can flog as much stuff as you like

hope that helps, but i've probably confused you even more

you know the rules you have broken them enough times with sly for sale posts being removed
you run a car restoration business, its all over your siggy on another forum, you even have a post on here showing the resto of YOUR car, thats fine if that ever comes up for sale, your welcome to sell it on here,
see you wish to quote the rules, there is one you have obvioulsy missed
"Members either known to be, or considered by the web team to be commercial users must be registered as official PassionFord Traders and have paid the current fee to be able to enter any sale advertisements whatsoever on the forum or be registered with a business name. Registration is also required in order to place or reply to wanted adverts".

Pete

Yep wont deny i done wrong on both those occasions but i was new and wasnt fully upto date on the rules.

Ive always abided them since and helped others out etc and will be becoming a full bona fide trader on here in the coming weeks.
Just need to get into the new unit first.

I also wasnt denying the fact that i run a parts restoration company, never have and even put that in my For Sale Thread as i was going to use this project as a demo car but you know how it his, never enough hours in the bloody day.

Just didnt think i was doing anything wrong with selling my own cars but the red quote above i suppose puts that to bed.

I've also looked in every room in the For Sale & Wanted section and i cant see that quote anywhere. Hook me up with a link as it would be good to
see the full rules and regs list.

I think they need to be a bit more clearer and bang at the top of the page so that everyone can see them clearly.

If that can happen and all members know the score then this room would probably never exist and make all the mods jobs ten times easier.

Not having a go or anything fella, just be nice to be fully clear on the rules.

Cheers

Chris

Many thanks

Wasn't frustrated, just wasn't sure where I went wrong but after reading through that link it makes more sense.

I definatly think that:

Paragraph
General buying / selling rules: ******************
&
Paragraph
Commercial users: *******************

Should be made stickies at the top of each page in big bold letters so all members can read them before getting themselves into trouble LOL

Done and many thanks for the good wishes.

Im sure it will do and after talking to Rob (Diva) he convinced me to sign up as a trader as i thought it was a tad high in price but suppose you
could make it back in a couple of sales.

I still think it would be good to put those rules links on each for sale page so thats its crystal clear and not a small button at top of the site.

Would make the mods life much easier.

Cheers

thats good to hear,Iam sure you will do Ok and its not expensive when you have the coverage this site provides, you just have to get used to paying for adverts,it hurts at first but its a business expense that cannot be avoided and is off set against your tax.
if you get any problems let myself or any other mod know and it will be delt with straight away

Pete, why you retaliate the way you do i've no idea, it comes across like your being very petty and arrogant.

Its not up to me what other people put so don't get wound up at me. I put you are my 'arch enemy' it was in jest. As there was a time I couldn't do much with out you giving me an infraction.

My two'penneth.

Last year I tried to sell my dad's car on here. admittedly not MY car, but seeing as I had never actually sold anything on here before - listed stuff occasionally, very occasionally - I didn't see a problem. My dad was 65 years old and couldn't even set the time on a clock radio, yet alone use the inernet. I made all this perfectly clear in my ad.

Which was removed because some arsehole complanied that it wasn't MY car. That is pathetic. I kicked up and Mark the Mod said that if I wanted to relist he'd ensure the ad stayed which I appreciated but that was it as far as I was concerned. I now refuse to pay for Gold Membership because of it - and I'll use the site for nothing thanks very much. I supported this site financially for five years, and to be treated that way when it was my dad's car which I made clear was shit. I have NEVER traded and NEVER been pulled for anything to do with advertsising before.

Rules are rules and we need them, but we also need common sense to be applied. I wasn't even contacted by the Mod to let me know what happened and why. Absolute shite.
