Hi
I am a newbie who has recently bought a mondeo tdci 130 with 200000km, I live in Denmark with the highest tax on cars in the world so it was expensive.(180%tax)

Anyway the car has a ticking noise that varies in speed from about 5 times a second to a little faster than indicator speed, tic tic ,falling in tempo shortly after idle, can only be heard in the car and seems to be on the left hand side, behind the dash.

Idle is sometimes erratic,500rpm or so. more so when cold and sometimes does not react when removing foot from accelerator. I also notice fuel smells when getting out of the car so will check fuel leads.

Its a 2003 tdci 130 just before facelift, have changed oil, filter and air filter.
Prob 3 different problems ??

Its snowing and cold so not the best time to be working on a car

Ops sorry , i forgot to say that there are no warning lights and it drives fine
Also now that I have just been out, it blows, some sort of fan even after a very short run that stops after ignition is turned off
