Like the brickwork looks nice and neat from the photo's.
Wud av used an insulated cavity wall tho if i was building the garage from scratch and was planning on putting a decent car in there.
Did a massive one for a customer recently for him to play with his cars in.
But its your garage mate do it how you like it.

it was down to space, the wife said I was only allowed so much of the garden, so I had to lose the cavity, money aswell, It's about 4.5 metres x 5 metres but I'll only be putting my Fiesta in there, so far the bricks, labour and roof has cost Ł2800 by a mate, I've got 2nd hand doors, windows etc, and I'm getting a new garage door.

How easy was it to get planning for a brick garage as opposed to a wooden 1?
I am just about to start a similar project & I was just wondering.

I just dont like the concrete lintels as ya can see em. Could have used steel ones so u dont see.....but never mind
Go to a reclaimers for ya beam. Dont need an RSJ just a I beam. Depends on size but i got a 250x100x3.6m I beam for my sisters wall removal a few months ago for about 60 quid.

Nah, It was down to planning and the Lady at the bottom of the garden complained a fair bit so it's gonna be a flat roof but about 12" high at the front.

nah andy. Oversite is the concrete screed under the ground floor joists of ya house.
You want at least 6 inches of limestone hardcore in there, then an inch of sand, then visqueen DPM, then 4-6 inches of concrete.

Cool mate! A metre overlap is plenty, dont even have to tape the joints at that

less than 30 sq/metres and you don't need building regs either.

Depends on the height and how far off your house it is. Local councils have different rules. Best to contact them Puss beforehand just to make sure!
