i Know they were quite shit compared to now days tuning, 500bhp on a standard 205, over fueling was so bad flames on idle, and pikey modifications, howcome they aint here today?

My car has had work done by Castle prior to me, far as I know they are not around anymore!

Wasen't impressed just by the receipt, it had an advisory for the cam tensioner being upside down and they diden't even change it!

A mate of mine was looking for an escos back in 2000/1 and we went to look at one in bath,in mallard green.

Car was a bit rough around the edges but it had a castle performance badge on the back and fook me it shifted, really quick.even back then it was on about it's 8th owner and had been pinched so hd no history as it was recorded so we didn't know what had been done but I'm guessing now at least 330bhp perhaps a touch more.

He never bought that one but instead bought K135 PTR which I believe is know owned by a tuning firm as a track car?I did see it on fastford mag a few years back.was a nice car that,he spent some cash on it!!!!

just because it had a castle performance sticker on it dont mean its been anywhere near the place
castle performance and turbosystems stickers used to be an extremely common site round here back in the day with them being local companys
never see or even used to see collins performance stickered up cars though which is strange because theyre quite local too

I know a few on here running 470-480, i think the 205blocks are stronger than folks think tbh, but i agree, if i were going for a build from scratch then i'd build it around a 200block..

I ran my old saff @ 440+ for a good while and it's still going today...

I'd defo run one @ 400-450 again...

No,definatley looked at by them,it had a few bits under the bonnet like a service sticker, when the cambelt was changed by them etc.was a very rapid car,bit laggy but when the boost hit it was a lose traction job, very harsh, old school style with bog boost but fuck all else!!!

Probably went bang a few days later!!

But it was a turbo,it was an escos!!!and as I said,it wasn't a sticker it was a proper badge that they used to put on the back of them.from that logic it could well have actually been tuned by them, seeings as the badge said it was!!!

i think you are under estimating what standard rods & crank can handle

incidentally, Turbo Systems is probably still one of the best around

so why the fuck have i listened to people in the past saying 400 is the limit for 205's?!

Ive been lookingat holset h1e's and hx35's the norqeigians use to get 450-500bhp, but no ones helping, i doubt i can get 450-500 on l6 and 4 injectors too can i?

cheers for this, really appriciate it, Ive got Ł400-500 to spend on a turbo but dont know what would be best

I would say TurboSystems is probably one of the top Cosworth tuners out there, just because Tony isn’t on here all the time doesn’t mean he isn’t around anymore.

Regarding the blocks I think it's more to do with the transmission format that determines what power they can cope with, you wouldn't want to use a 205 block in a 4x4! The 200 block is stronger because it was designed for use in a 4x4 setup, obviously this will be even stronger when being used in 2wd format.

And I seem to remember Karl Norris running over 600bhp on L6 and 4 injectors, the ECU doesn't determine the power you can make.
