Even if it would cost a bit of wedge to get them to fit the injectors, I'd pay it to keep things nice and safe with the rest of the engine.

Cheers,

someone must have a mapp from someone else's car with similar engine mods/injectors etc. then lower your boost right down. Just need to copy the data onto your chip and it should be fine if you then get it mapped properly i would of thought ? ill be corrected if im wrong ?...

but as above much easier to change when your with the mapper.

give your mapper the spec of your car he should be able to post you a safe map to get you to them for live mapping.

it'll overfuel but not by much as grey's tend to flow around 60lb anyway.

Well it would over fuel as the ecu will keep the bigger injectors open for the same time as it would the greys. ECU has no knowledge of what injector is in there and will just do what it was told to do.

Greys 0 280 150 403 are 47.9lbhr, with them being used they will no doubt flow slightly more than this, so even nearer to the 63's, but still lean, just stay off the boost.
I must agree though why bother, nothing wrong with greys if correctly mapped, but from what I've heard it isn't anyway, certainly not cold running anyway.

Siemens/Deka 63`s are on another planet resolution wise, compared to a grey..... Don`t get me wrong greys are a cracking injector but the technology is ancient compared to new stuff....

Greys are very close flow wise to a 55 so it should run with 63`s to do a short distance...... Have you got an AFR guage so that you can check it ?

I don't doubt for 1 second siemens are a easier more controllable injector I just don't see the point of ditching perfectly good useable injectors, that can still give ace emissions and performance, my greys had enough resolution for a mot pass and 100% perfect running at 0.97% CO, 137ppm with 200,000 mile son at the mot test, and was NOT adjusted for the mot, and was NOT on closed loop.

For once I agree with Tabs..LOL

Nothing wrong with greys in all operating conditions.

Its more down to most mappers not understanding or not able to adjust all the correct/required parameters in the weber ecu's that gave them a bad name.

Got a similar situation with mine going from greys to .55s, so if i did the same would it be a problem or would i be best getting a base map?!
