I've had every iPhone that's come out and Jailbroke every 1 without any problems. Millions if people do it. Try using a website called xselize. Theres loads of info on there

 

loads of advantages for jailbreaking.for one you can get free apps through installous but i like the tinkering with the phone to make it easier to use.easiest app is sbsettings.enables u to swipe the screen and activate and deactivate things like 3g,wifi,bluetooth without going through different menus

 

Ok, got cydia now, but can't find any app store games? Guy I know could get games like star battalion and galaxy of fire 2. Also he could get Tom tom. Am I just looking in the wrong place?

 

you need to add the repository hackulous then search in cydia for installous and download that.thats where u will find all the apps u see on itunes.addy is cydia.hackulo.us in sources section of cydia

 

Where is installous? Am I just being thick?

 

go to cydia,then the manage tab at bottom,go on sources bit.then add in top left hand side and type in cydia.hackulo.us ignore the warning and add anyway.when thats rebooted click on search tab at bottom and search for installous.install that and away u go

I have had installous for ages but never got it working, it's just a blank page with a web addy bar at the top, just like a web browser, except typing something does nothing?

cheers mate but what do i do now? if i click on newest apps or most popular etc it just comes up with "no apps matched your query"? i noticed it said "sign in" at the top, do i need to sign up before i can do anything on it?

It has a November release date, but nothing confirmed yet. Apparently it has been delayed due to a few issues with it in development with the wifi. Apparently 24th is the next guess day of the update.

HELP PLEASE!
ok. done jailbreak today using limera1n and cydia like it says above. then got installous and that seems to work fine right up till i come download an app. i press a link that sends me to a file hosting site, wait for it to tell me i can start download then click that. it starts to download then just dissapears out of the downloads tab at the bottom without finishing or installing...

anybody able to tell me what i'm doing wrong?

depends if its a good ipa or not.if a corrupt one it will delete it.otherwise it should say started,completed then installed

I've got a few games and that's it! Tried tom-tom but it wanted to take like 6 hours on wifi! Piss take.

 

Unlocking and Jailbreaking mean 2 different things but you do have to have a jailbroken phone to be able to unlock it.

If memory serves me right then TomTom is quite a big file and downloading from these file hosting sites is pretty slow unless you pay for "premium" access which lets you download at higher speeds.

Correct, I only downloaded small files but it took 10-15 mins, tomtom must be a huge file so it will take a while

 

TomTom for iPhone is about 2gig.

 

yeah tomtom will sap your battery so charge it while downloading.i downloaded that innovate obd software last night it looks cracking just need to save for the interface to plug into the car

 

To be fair most games like angry birds Halloween or something only took a few mins, I was surprised how quick it downloaded, and I forgot to add that was over 3G

 

Tomtom UK n Ireland is about 500-600mb off memory and times out if u download it "normally" (30min threshold) but co-pilot UK n Ireland will download no probs

 

Got tom-tom Europe, started download, went to sleep, woke up, installed already. Happy days.

Overkill getting Europe maybe.. Oh well.

 

I can't find iBluenova for my iPhone 4.

Any of you know where I can find it as I could really do with having useable bluetooth on this irritating piece of shit....

I take it iBluenova will send to other non-iPhone phones?

 

If it doesnt allow you to bluetooth other none iphone phones then what would be the point of it? every iphone since the 3G has been able to bluetooth other iphones.

Installous wont have it due to iBlueNova being a Cydia app and not from the App Store.

DazC you need to jailbreak your iPhone to get iBlueNova and yes it will send to non iPhones

Does anyone know how to download or at least remove the downloads available message on the app store logo? its saying ive got one update, if i click on it its an update for a game that ive got off installous, so obviously it wont download, so will i have downloads available all the time and not being able to remove it? or can i install the update somehow to make it go away?

 

Download the updated game from Installous? But I'm sure if you go to Cydia>Sections>Hackulo.us and install the MetaDataRemovr that does what your looking for

st3v3 I just checked and its gone from Cydia On Cydia f you go to Manage>Sources , click edit then add put this repository in http://cydia.xsellize.com/ you will find a version of it there

 

I can confirm that ibluenova is indeed on cydia if you do the above

I will try installing that metadataremovr thing

heres a tip for you guys! i have a 4.1 jail broken and was on installous having a browse couple of days back... the Ł60 tomtom western Europe app is on there and i can confirm it works as its running on my iphone now! god its good

 

Yes I've checked Intallous and as I have never been able to send a file using an iPhone I didn't know if it was just iPhone to iPhone that iBluenova gave or a full blluetooth facility like every other phone on earth.

Done that ages ago.

This is why I was asking as I've looked several times and never found it on Cydia.

It loads and runs but can't discover any devices and can't be discovered by other devices either.

 

I tried it, it finds my misses blackberry and the berry sees the iPhone but when trying to send a file it says on the berry screen "enter iPhone passcode", tried the default code and several other random numbers but nothing works

 

I just tried it and I dont think it works on the iPhone 4 It worked fine when I had my 3GS. Might be the reason why its been pulled from Cydia.

Edit: Did some Googling and it doesnt work on iOS 4.1
