Default windscreen demister/antifog??????????????

for those without heaters!

do you use any product on the glass to stop them fogging up in this weather?

other than having the drivers window fully open, or not breathing, what do you do?

i use bob heaths visor antifog when i ride a bike in the cold, so was just thinking about getting a few cans and covering the windscreen and door glass with the stuff...

Strange as my dash blow heater will demist the screen but slowly

prices are daft for heated screens though

FORD SIERRA BRZ HEATED WINDSCREEN Price: Ł210.00 (Excluding VAT at 17.5%)

FORD SIERRA GREEN HEATED WINDSCREEN Price: Ł165.00 (Excluding VAT at 17.5%)

Cut a spud in half and rub over the inside of the windows, allow to dry, buff off, last about 2 weeks at a time/treatment, or use neat washing up liquid all over leave to dry a bit then buff off.

Install a heater matrix and blower? It can't weight that much. Just two pipes for plumbing and a few wires for the blower.

I used washing up liquid on my bike visors and you don't really notice any smell tbh, even if spuds produced a smell you'd still be able to see, which is better than no smell and not being able to see.

but as i said, its far easier to keep a small can of stuff in the car, than a baking potato, and a knife lol

the stuff only costs about Ł4 a can and lasts a while, well for a bike visor. so i think i can live with that. also sounds like it will quicker to apply, as waiting for a wet potato or washing up liquid to dry off in this rather chilly weather, may take a while lol

I've got a Cossie Merc, and the heater fan has died. I use a product from Rain-Ex, it's an anti mist liquid, works quite good

Cheers,

Ade.

surely it will be a lot less fucking about to just spray some shit on and wipe it off every now an again, than get a completely new screen, then wire it all up?

might be just me, but i think i know whats the easy option

Easy option well is it ! the can demist works on visors but a winder screen it don't work well as a stripped out car gets a lot of moister build up and if driven correct will generate plenty of heat inside so a heated screen will be more cost effective more reliable and the hour effort wiring a screen will be easier than applying spray to the window ev ery other week but not so pikey

ive got polycarb rear screen to mate, will test on a small area first.

jay, my insurance excess is Ł90 for glass, agains Ł4 for a can...

i am yet to take it on a long drive to see how warm it will get inside over time, but the tranny tunnel was warming up.

no sound deadening at all either, so that helps lol.

tbh i cant see it getting used that much int the cold, and come spring it wont need anything....

so for now, ill give the anti fog a go.

as for keeping warm... there are things called hats/coats/jumpers/gloves etc - these were all invented to keep a person warm lol

Might also be worth keeping some of those moisture absorbing crystals in the car too for when you're not using it. It's the moisture within the car that causes the condensation. The dryer the inside of the car, the less the condensation.

RainX is good too!

its things like that which are not going to do any favours lol
