Been doing that at AvonPark for years, but a pain in the arse really.

It's always been that rule at Santa Pod regarding helmets over 100mph, it's just that they have never bothered to enforce it in the past....

 

they wont know if its a 100+ car until its run will they!!

 

Then the next run you are supposed to put helmet on or not be allowed to run any more .

 

best get the launch done properly first time round then!

i wouldnt run without my helmet on anyway ,

at the rst thrash at brunters i was the only one with a helmet , and was actuallly quite shocked at the lack of thought ,

top speed runs ( 150 - 180mph ) and a damp track to boot ,

 

helmet rental and central day

ill be renting brollys aswell just incase

Ive been at AvonPark before when we had no idea we had to wear helmets, our 3 cars first runs were 102, 110, and 117
Time for us to go home, wouldnt let us ran again

no - im too much of a pussy to run my car up the 1/4 mile last summer!!

will have to purchase a series 1 stig helmet then before central day

mind you, i'll probably be crying about the charge temps too much to run my car

o, and I wouldnt get more than 1 run anway, cos my gearbox will shit itself

When we all went to avon park steve we never had to where helmets Alex always gets made to where one any way with his cabrio!

And tbh I have been to events were have had to but my head hits the roof when I do with seat on lowest setting, spose i have me seat to upright maybe but that how i feel comfortable driving, so im close to wheel can hold the wheel tighter not at arms stretch for better control, but if i do have accident more likely to break my neck with helmet dragging my head back along roof

Or one of them old american football leather helmets from the 50s

Or just a cricket helmet

This funny helmet thing seems a quality plan tho, i might even buy a helmet and adapt a couple of afro wigs n glue em on so it dont look like i got a helmet on, just a HUGE afro

Theres a woman whos always in town with one of them disabled helmets, ill see if she wants to sell it
