when doing the conversion i have seen a lot of people cut out just the tunnel and small parts of a sierra and fit them into the new shell but why do people bever just hack the whole floor pan out of a sierra then chop everything out of the new shell and basically just weld up around the bulk head and sills? would that not make it easier for alignment etc
maybe the floor would need a cut and shut in the middle but surely this would still be easier???
yes or no???
anyone got any pics of doing it this way or links to other builds?

lota work involoved in both ways mine you could just put the front end in to the the rear were tunnel meats back seats as the back end is easy to make ur own rather than cut every thing out

i want some propa pics lol of where you have cut the fiesta or focus front end and what parts you have cut and shut in off the sierra...dingla i have seen your way but you use a jig...if i built one i would rather use the whole sierra floor with basically a fiesta dropped on top so at least i know it will go down the road straight!
you saying dingles wont drive straight because he used a jig ???
seriously fella if doing a focos , minor mods are better then hacking the lot out imo
but if your wanting ideas how to put a full sierra floor in sumthing ,
check my resto out , not a focos but gives an idea to whats involved ,

yh dinglas woul drive straight as he built his of a car that had already been built on a jig...if your building it at home though the way i have seen a few people cut out the floor and weld the rear crossmember in and then using part of the sierra floor pan for the tunnel then gusseting the front end and building it up from bosses juust looks a lot of hard work...or harder work than necessary...there is a mini being being built on here that has literally had the mini shell dropped onto a cut and shut sierra floor pan...imo that looks easier because all you would need to do is put a few strengthening pasrts on the floor to keep it straight whilst you weld position and weld the shell...the only problem is then the condition of the sierra floor pan and how much rot is on it...no?
