how to remove distributor cap on sierra cosworth 4x4. I want to seal it because i have oil leak from there

The base of the distributor has a clamp with a bolt(13mm hex head) through the clamp that bolts into the block, so effectively it's held down, remove this clamp/bolt, and the dizzy comes out by pulling straight up, ensure if on std ecu the phase timing is perfectly aligned when re installing.
