Kent Cams!
really pissed off jamsport fitted brand new cvh 35 cam kit and it lasted 5 minutes on the rollers when they were setting it up it fell to bits the quality of this product is shit and i will be getting in touch with rally design and will ask for my money and jamies labour back and will get a newman off jamie when refunded any one else had these problems with kent cams before
fair play to jamie he fitted a second hand cam from piper to get me home mate you want to see it i couldn't beleive it when i looked at it lets hope rally design choose to coff up because i have to now drain my oil and filter becuse people can't define the word quality just thought iwould put this up so people stay well clear from this brand of cams
good man matt told me the other day they had that as a spare...
did you get a power graph from it with the piper cam....
and whats the condition of the piper cam as ive had loads and its an alright cam if its mint

Seen both Piper and Kent eat cams very quickly although all my Kent and Piper cams have proved themselves to be faultless on my own engines. Even hear of Newman cams failing. You'll do well to get your money back but have no hope in Hell of recovering costs for labour etc.
The cam was run in correctly wasn't it?

Sorry to hear about that mate, I've had my topend engine rebuilt about 4 years ago and I used the same cam kit as yours and had it rolling road tuned straight after had no problem so far with it but I have only covered about 16k on it so far.
cheers mate You must be lucky enough to have a decent 1 i will get piks up this was minutes after it was after it ws run in now i know why people say they are made out of chocolate lol
how long do cams last on average s i don't drive mine hard all the time i tend to just have bursts or thrash it when you get idiots with saxos come up my arse so just leave them i have tried to play with a few scooby's but have been destroyed so far unless its of a rolling star then i stayed with one up until90 mph then he blipped me lolbut most of the time i chill
tell me about it mate just pisses me off brcause kent must jnow there's something not rughtwith the quality of there kits but still sell them contaced rally design and they told me they don't accept them back and i have to contact kent so will be contacting kent today
I was speaking to mark at jamsport this afternoon and he actually told me about fitting a kent cvh35 to a customers car recently and it fell apart. Lol

I agree with jambo^
Sound like they've just fucked you off, end of the day you have had the kit fitted at a very well known ford tuner, I would have a little chat ith your local trading standards department

lmao least people now know not to use them as they don't garantee the products that they sell and he thought has crossed my mind lmao
told you jamsport are the nuts mate going back down there soon to get my bilstien b12 and my cosworth inlet and another map lol 4 months and the super charger will be fitted and the ap breaks
what lifters were supplied in the kit? Chances are they wasnt decent ones as there is no reason that a cam should fail like that from any company. However i have heard about off batches of cams and lifters in the past from most of the leading manufactors having faults of some sort. Hence why the antipump lifter was removed off the shelf.
I fitted a Kent to my mk3 3i (about 5 years ago now like) and it failed within 1000 miles. I used new standard lifters, lubed it, fresh oil and filter and did not let it idle for a good 25 mins. I varied revs between 2500rpm and 3000rpm within that time.
Drove for hours tucked behind an artic on the A1 on 3 pots to get home. Lifter and lobe destroyed. Started as a slight tick and got to the point of 3 pots within 20 mins or so.
Car went a better with it though - nice while it lasted lol.
