Default can you fit a 4wd diff to 2wd?

im looking at getting a cosworth rear axle for my sierra, 4x4 ones seem to be cheaper, but can you fit a 4x4 complete rear axle with diff to use as 2wd running gear? or will it give me problems and be slow id imagine?

it does fit straight on and can be used,
but as said the 4x4's are smaller and not so strong so prob will rip the teeth off the crown wheel before long,
might be better just paying the extra for a 2wd set up,
2wd cossy's are famous for killing diffs, so fitting a smaller than standard diff aint realy a great idea for reliability

Depends how much power you're running, very little difference between 2wd and 4wd apart from size of mounting.

350 will be fine, so long as you don't use launch techniques on every pull away.

you need the driveshafts to go with the diff being used as the diameter of the flanges are differant
