light comming on when braking ??? advice

Default light comming on when braking ??? advice

as above when ever i press my foot down on my brake the light comes on under my speedo i checked the fluid theres plenty there??? any ideas?>

hmm cheers lads my abs light is on but thats been on since i bought the car any ideas if the pads turn out to be ok?

So what light is coming on is it the red handbrake/fluid level light or the orange abs light. When you first start the car up do these lights go off.

The light is duel purpose to show the parking brake being on or low brake fluid as you have checked the fluid it's not that.

Check the 3 pin connector on top of the brake fluid resoviour isnt loose as IIRC with this removed the light will illuminate.

MK2 does not have brake pad warning.

abs light is on constantly but always has been but now its the red handbrake light wenever i hit the brake peddle ive checked fluid but cant get my wheels off as my locking nut snapped to check pads ect

As I have said that light indicates low brake fluid or parking brake on, if it is illuminated in conjuction with the ABS light it means low boost pressure.

MK2 does not have brake pad warning as I say!

Sounds like you have a really serious fault with your abs if the yellow light is staying on. The sensor on top of the brake fluid reservor could be faulty.

for fook sake its one thing after another so whats the best way to go about sorting all this out then would you say, sorry im not clue'd up on all this, ive checked fluid thats fine ill check the sensor on top of the reservoir tomorow check thats all connected then if no joy what lol ???
