I have checked the fuses in my ST170, all seem ok, but the cigarette lighter will not work, can anybody come up with any ideas why, or if it needs replacing, could somebody give me details as to how to go about this please.

Have a look at the actual metal contact in the end that grips the lighter itself, this often corrodes very very badly, and can cause this.
