Here's what I was doing over Xmas... The old Mans Combi Van
Dads Combi Van, when it left the factory in 1986 it was midnight blue, then painted in a corporate light blue similar to pics. Dad has had it for a good few years now probably 10 years.
He had it painted again by a mate 6 or 7 years ago. I have never liked the colour and as it has started to look a little tired was time for a revamp
Also an ideal oppourtunity for me to test out my new Dig-Cam Xmas pressie
Its a 1995 Ford colour, not got any final finished pics yet, as I still have an 88 spec RST bumper to paint and fit
Took just over a week all in, though ths time I didnt touch the welder at all, all dads handywork ... I've never done a full respray with panels on (bonnet and door) but I'm quite happy with the end result, shuts blew in really well didnt have the N/S door or tailgate on though as we managed to source some right clean secondhand ones
Oh and sorry about the blurred pics, he still hasnt quite got the hang of the camera yet

Doesn't look quite as good as your last project mate
I thought I would log in and take a look in here, as it's been a while. Looks impressive mate, you could probably do these mk4's with your eyes closed now lol.

Wow. That looks really smart.
Haven't you got an electric sander though, rather than doing it all by hand or is it easier that way. (Not a blonde Qu just wondering that's all)

lol I bet that was Paul using Annas login to make it look like Anna asked
Flat it back with wet n dry using a block to ensure as flat as poss, using 800 wet and dry....
some people/ bodyshops do just DA sand, dry before colour coats.... thats fine on relatively new panels... but older especially the van, often have few little marks neding smoothing off HTH

So have you done anymore?
Wow i do like that, looks nice and shiney Damo
Have you got any pics of the car finished off and outside in daylight? What wheels has your dad got on it? A set of RST ones would set it off nicely, or a set of fiesta RS1800i wheels
