get coilovers then you can play around with them and it will handle so much better. i dropped mine 50mm on chassis dynamic springs and koni shocks, although its fine on flat roads its pig if hit any bumps or drive on alot of crap town roads.

As Adam says 25-30mm shouldn't cause too much stress on the rubber bushes if they are all new.

Not the car Andy, just some of the set-up
Motorsport parts get lifed, and are replaced WELL before needed.
It will still be around for a while yet hopefully.

Andy,
Units are available individually but do come as a fully assembled kit so yes
Sometimes the outer top mount (the bit you see in the engine bay) is done as an exchange if we have none in stock.
But being customer focused Im sure if someone said they already had the springs and or or top/bottom spring pans etc then it wouldn't be a problem.
What I know he wont sell is the inner top mount without the strut as the two are designed to work in tandem together, with the way one sits on top of the other, to even out the extra load placings.

Not sure about all this "strengthening of the rear end" business! As far as I am aware, any rear coilover setup would work the same way as mine, putting the coil spring loads through the strut top mounting via the normal rubber isolator.
My setup runs a fairly soft rear spring as the back of the car is fairly light so the increased loadings are not fantastic. Remember that the standard spring that runs between the wishbone and the chassis rail is considerably stronger (maybe 300lbs/in) due to the leverage effect of its position with respect to the wheel and the inner pickup point, so the loading at that point would be relatively large compared to that at the top of a strut mounted spring, which is direct acting on the wheel.
I ran my Mk4 Escort rally car for several years with the identical setup to Tony's RS1600i rally car, with NO additional welding at all to the rear strut top mountings. There was never any sign of stress or cracks appearing. A clamp on rear strut brace would be a good idea though.
