Just started to strip down the engine from my 1300 sport.the number on the block is 711M6015AA is this the engine or casting number.thanks

casting number, engine number is on a little outstepped section of the block near the head-gasket area on the exhaust side...

Ok i have found this number on the block near the head face WE96508 ,does anyone know what it means.thanks

it doesnt really mean anythink?
just matches to the logbook for security reasons (eg if it gets stolen)
it sould match the last 7 digits of the chassis number....
