He had a reciept for some new rings but none for the engine rebuild, he claimed that the rest of the parts were off ebay so had no reciepts.

anyone can say its had a rebuild, really annoys me why people cant be honest about a car, if anything it makes me feel better about buying a car from an honest owner but sadly they are far a few between!

Looks a well written advert too, cars that are shady are usually from wanky illiterate morons, you sure he knew about it? ....although the pre-warmed car isn't a good sign of a straight seller I agree.

Cheers,

i'd not touch an RS without a folder full of paperwork after owning one! lol.

my orion has over 4k worth of reciepts from me, and nearly 2k of that is for an engine build, with a bullet pointed spec'd rebuild from NMS. shame the car isn't even worth that with the engine though

and i personally was not gonna buy it after that. From the look of him and the way he spoke he did not write that advert lesson learnt i guess.I didnt bother looking at paperwork
the bloke is a chancer the car is worth 3.5k at most

What a prick, pretty expensive car as well,if as described it would have been quite reasonably priced but as you said, why bull it up?
If it struggles to start from cold etc, just say in the advert,it's an old car and we expect problems, even on the day of sale, shit happens doesn't it?

A phone call would have been something if there was a problem but as you said the twat clearly knew what he was up to.

I've had to do a load of welding on my ebony one but ive photoed before and after and I've never claimed it was mint, although I found out it was owned by a vicar the other day,it's been chipped too so he obviously had a bit of devil in him too!!!

Its been painted now and I've treated all the rust on it,replaced panels where I could but I can never guarantee it won't come back so I wont take the piss on price and claim it's mint.

I think as the Rs phenomenon grows momentum now, people are simply taking the piss, look at that ringer White one on here the other week, floor numbers drilled the lot and the guy wanted Ł6500 for it,I'd value that at no more than Ł3500 and thats as a breaker!!!!

There's been some lovely ones on here in the for sale section fella,I suppose just keep looking.

well written add, pictures are a bit shit but then guess even lots of pictures still dont tell the real story.

Makes you feel like giving the owner a slap for the wasted time but they would be on the phone to the old bill before you could get back in your car.

To Cossie362...............
You seem like a real nice bloke NOT.
In fact I'd ask who it is in this forum that is ACTUALLY being honest, cos i put it to you that it's NOT YOU!!!!
I have it on good authority that you have actually been viewing some other cossie's for sale all of a similar stance & rubbishing them because you yourself are trying to increase the value of the Cossie that YOU are SELLING.

I think I was too honest when wrote the ad for our cossie and someone got a bargin

It is annoying when you find a good car for sale, phone the seller first who bends the truth to find out it's far from as described when get there and a waste of you time

A 6 hour round trip to rubbish another car to better the chances of selling your own?
Are you serious?
If he was gonna do that he should just give the car away as he'd be spending all the cash in fuel travelling!

Firstly the guy was in a works van as had a job local to the area, secondly yes the car was warm - was it ever claimed that the car was not in use???? By 1pm on a Sunday the kids had been swimming & the shopping done! Thirdly he claims BS about the engine rebuild?? He never asked he never looked in the folder of paperwork & lets just say he did ask, why when i have already stated all relevant info in my ebay listing would i tell him the story that he is claiming (the story that btw just happend to be completly different to the info i poseted in my listing???)
Also he never felt the arches, never looked under the car???
In all honesty i cannot physically understand, & I'm at a total loss.
I have been contacted by email via ebay by two other seller to ask if cossie362 had contacted me, as he had been in contact with them....
If anyone wishes to come & take a look under the car if you are local please do so.
My solicitor advises an independant inspection to support claims for slander.
Like i said if anyone is local please come & look at the car see for yourself then i won't have to defend myself against slanderous remarks.

can you confirm that the car has not been undersealed in the last few weeks? and secondly can you confirm what was replaced in the rebuild (engine) and do you have recepits? lastly, who built the engine?
