blown indicator fuse
My 05 focus ghia keeps on blowing indicator fuses.
Autospark had a look at it and told me the pollen filter needed changed as it may have been holding moisture.
Changed the pollen filter but the indicator fuse keeps blowing.
Any ideas on the problem.

Good auto sparky!!
Does it blow on both sides ?, if so problem is likely a short between relay and the indicator stalk, if it only blows when switched to left or right will be a problem with that side.
In which case start by taking the bulbs out that side, indicate to that side has it popped the fuse, if no put one bulb in at a time to see what happens, can be the bulb, but most likely is water somewhere causing short, side repeaters are faves, see if someone has stuck some silver foil in them, a fave trick for the pikeys trying to steal cars, it knocks out the alarm on some!!

Thanks for that Tabetha.
The indicators work intermittently, could be driving for a week or two and the indicators work fine and then the fuse blows, other times it could blow twice a day.
When I replace the fuse it does not blow immediately. I will check out your suggestions in the morning.

Check the wire between the fusebox and the flasher unit behind the clocks, when the ignition is turned to position 2(running) the fuse is made live and feeds power to the flasher unit all the time, it is only when a side(left or right) is clicked that power can now flow to the indicator, the fact that it blows without indicating shows the problem to be either from fusebox to flasher unit , or flasher unit to column stalk switch, most likely a worn through wire.
