i have been looking at intercoolers on ebay in the following sizes,45mm and 60mm.im sure the old radtec 1 i had was 50mm but cant find any radtec coolers this size.
when going for big power will the 60mm be worth the extra money over say a 45mm cooler as theres about £200 differance!

What power have you got ?
Steve
It will be well worth going to a 60 mm thick core if you want high power.
Get a well designed one and it will help with the cooling by straightening the air flow
for the water radiator. Some are designed to go in front of a radiator, but a lot are
thrown together using whatever core is available. The cores are not made equal !!!!

So if it hasnt been tested against others what tests have you done mark to warrant the old spec r over any of the others????
To be fair once you have a good cooler and it works for your needs why change unless your chasing more bhp or you have issues???
cheers danny
I stand corrected your right in that test there wasnt a spec r but there was alot of others and it came second out of 5 well known coolers and i was wrong again as that was the 60mm one witch has been out proven with the 70mm one..

The old one works as well as the others with the tube and fin cores and its the one I would use if asked.

I agree the new bar and plate seems the best out there now but for most just isnt needed and is very expensive although worth every penny if needed...
The old spec r isnt any better than some of the others though imo...

I'm currently running a Pro Alloy 50mm core intercooler which performed very well at 420 BHP, but now with a possible increase of 180 BHP (I hope) I 'm unsure how it's going to cope with the added act's.

Straight fit is a good question fella, its got to go in the front of a pug 106, im sure Andrew Gallacher will make it fit, but scs have just fitted one with no probs on an escos and mine was from Kelvins Escort yet again fitted no probs.
