Tiff, thanks a lot for the tip on Hatton Garden Metals

Got an online quote of Ł482 for 50grams of 9ct gold, sent the gold off to them on Saturday, money paid into my bank on Monday, got Ł544 which was more money than originally quoted!

last week i used cashforyourgold.co.uk, i sent 112grams of broken gold special delivery on the sat about 11am, and they rung me on Monday morning at 9:25 with an offer, and be careful as some charge commission, (cashforyourgold dont,)make sure you read all the terms etc,
i cant rate cashforyourgold high enough really,
hope this helps

Nice one....They are very very good, as you found out.

I, like you, got more money as the market went up during the few days it took to send the gold....

Based on a quick calc, 50 grams of 9 carat gold contains around Ł560 worth of gold at a rough spot price of Ł845/oz. I'd say you've done all right considering the extent to which these places usually rip people off.

Forgot to say earlier, it turned out to be 55.09g of 9ct gold when they weighed it, my original quote was based on 50g measured on some basic kitchen scales, either way they were an honest service, which paid up very quickly! Very impressed!

Was going to say... thought there was something up with their generosity! Still done well. Obviously they need a profit to operate too, and not sure how much lower than spot price they will be able to get rid of it for. Would be interesting to hear if anyone knew how it all worked?
