Like people have said. Tracking. It would be the first thing i would do. Try and get your tracking done with a 4 way alinement dont. This will tell you everything about your suspension ie your castor n camber.

after having had all them parts replaced you should get it tracked without delay,as for rear end stepping out its normal as its a FWD car it gets dragged around

its a pointless mod unless upgrading every single thing including inlet manifold, ecu,afm ,maf and throttle body and poss injectors too ,GTI escorts are slow but they look good

Something is a miss with the alignment. imhe 40mm is about the limit of lowering these cars and certainly won't help with wear as the camber angles inrease.

Your car's a Mk6 BTW. No such thing as a mk7

tracking and four wheel alignment are pointless if the thrust angle is wrong.
the thrust angle is an imaginary line at that runs down the centre of the car at right angles to the rear axle and the front wheel alignment is set up to it. if the thrust angle is wrong then the wheel alignment will be wrong.
best get a full geometry test done with a garage who use a Hunter machine.
google thrust angle for more info.

first thing you do with 4 wheel alignment is set the thrust angle!!!!

the rear isn't adjustable on the escort so would they check the thrust angle when in for front tracking only?

Of course camber can cause wear. It has to be extreme but it still can.

you can account for any minor misalignment at the rear with your adjustments at the front so long as you know what you are doing, thrust angle should be checked/set on all tracking jobs imo

would they not do that anyway though on a car with rear beam such as the escort or would you have to specifically ask for it and pay more??

you try fitting them on a mk6 escort

rear = 1 bolt on bottom and 3 on top
front = shock slides in strut 3 bolt holes on top

no adjustment at all on standard shock and spring set up apart from tracking
