inner tyre wear ...pls help
i got a mk7 escort gti new srings, shocks. wishbones, droplinks etc,
and still gettin inner wear! basically everything new on both front corners.
does anyone know why am i still getting wear on both wheels and sometimes on hard acceleration it chooses its own directon and when cornering right the arse end feels like it kicks slightly....
any ideas please this is starting drive me nuts

Like people have said. Tracking. It would be the first thing i would do. Try and get your tracking done with a 4 way alinement dont. This will tell you everything about your suspension ie your castor n camber.
Exactly no such thing as a mk7

thanks all it running on 40mm lowerers but it onyl dropped it by about 10mm hight with stiffer springs, dont know bout mk7 it s reg anyways. will have tracked up asap hope cures dont feel safe esspecially in wet also ho easy is it to upgrade to 2l cams is it just a straight swap
definately tracking. after changing the lower ams on my old mk6 escort (last of the line, no mk7) i didnt get the tracking done and killed my front tyres within a few hundred miles. DOH!!
its a pointless mod unless upgrading every single thing including inlet manifold, ecu,afm ,maf and throttle body and poss injectors too ,GTI escorts are slow but they look good

Something is a miss with the alignment. imhe 40mm is about the limit of lowering these cars and certainly won't help with wear as the camber angles inrease.
Your car's a Mk6 BTW. No such thing as a mk7

tracking and four wheel alignment are pointless if the thrust angle is wrong.
the thrust angle is an imaginary line at that runs down the centre of the car at right angles to the rear axle and the front wheel alignment is set up to it. if the thrust angle is wrong then the wheel alignment will be wrong.
best get a full geometry test done with a garage who use a Hunter machine.
google thrust angle for more info.

you can account for any minor misalignment at the rear with your adjustments at the front so long as you know what you are doing, thrust angle should be checked/set on all tracking jobs imo
