Default Sierra Cosworth 2wd rpm counter not working ...

Hi everyone,

I have a '88 Sierra Saph Cossie and I have a annoying problem with my rev.counter.
It doesn't work ... but every once in a while it will, out of the blue, work again. If I turn the car off and on afterwards, it doesn't work again.
So, basically, it works 10% of the time ... :/

Anyone have any bright ideas ? ...

Check the green wire on the coil connection (-) this is the pulse for it.

Check VERY carefully the track leading from the green wire in the connector on the clocks to the tacho, the tracks are known to break and cause on off, I've rewired from connector direct to the terminal on two different ones, worked both times 100%.
