you need to be measuring a voltage at the element, but it not getting hot for it to be that.

There may be an overload that needs resetting - don't know if your model has one.

There will also be a thermostat in there somewhere that might be dead. Again, voltage measurement will prove it.

Go careful with the cover off and it plugged in eh?

Post a question on www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you want a decent definitve answer but......when you say its gone off , what do you mean ? That its not heating ?

I'd never condone live testing on an appliance but you could check the dryer heater for continuity . From experience , it should read between 25 - 45 ohms . There may be an overheat stat too which might have popped which will cut the circuit to the heater but then something must have caused this to pop.

Check out the forum on the above site and you may find more info on there

POWER OFF AND PLUG OUT IF INVESTIGATING

I usually google the symptoms, make and model and when it is a common, you tend to get lots of handy fix it guides.

Recently had that on my bosch washer dryer, a underwire bra had got sucked into a pipe at the front of the drum and jammed the whole thing, repair was well over £500 so had a new one instead, glad I got extended warranty, then had the problem of explaining where the bra came from as wasn't the gf's ha ha!!
I do know from what the man said that the overheat stat had popped, and it burnt out a board at the front.
