Hi Guys and Gals, my Mrs was out and about last night, parked up for a bit and then returned to our car, Sierra (2.0 DOHC). Tried to start her but there was nothing!?!? No electrics, nothing, totally dead. She left it until help arrived and the car then only started with the help of jump leads...

The battery is fairly new, bought it in March so could it be the Alternator?!?! Or something else??

Any tips, opinions or similar experiences??

Could well be the battery.

Get a multi meter on it when the car is running at tick-over, should read about 14.5V with no electrical load.

could have been caused by something silly like a really bad earth, but that was deffo a flat battery

 

Hmm, the car has been alright today tho, been to work, the car has been sat all day and then the drive home... Weird

 

Thanks for the advice chaps Will check out to see if I can find a bad earth!!
