This guy just takes the piss, best snooker player of all time. Up in Scotland for the World open on Hendry's own turf during a game against Mark King he comes to the table pots the first red then asks the ref to find out what the high break prize is, after one red!!! Ref takes ages trying to find out, whilst play is pretty much stopped then eventually tells him there is none like the World championship, just standard £4,000 prize.

Ronnie then pulls a few faces and then proceeds to clear up to 140 then shakes hands with King and tries to walk off, ref urges him to finish the black for the 147 maxium which he then stops and smashes in.

Some think he's childish sometimes, like then, and maybe genius does get over used for him but jesus, how good to you have to be to ask for the prize after one red then go on and do it. He's got 10 now, and now got the most of all time. Just amazes me how he doesn't seem to care so much about the trophies or records. If he's not enjoying the game or getting some money he doesn't care, mental. No doubt his mentality hampers him winning 6-10 worlds but it also makes him damn interesting to watch/

He asked the ref if there was a seperate prize for a 147 and then didn't pot the last black because it didn't make any difference lol, if he was any different people would say he's arrogant but I genuinley think that it doesn't really bother him,

And yes for him genius is the perfect word, more 147s than anyone else, fastest 147 ever and the only person to hit two 147s in consecutive frames one left handed and one right handed (admittedly it was a exibishion but its still impressive)

I dont think many of the players like this 3 frame format, and as a fan I dont either. If i wanted that kind of stuff i'd just watch the pool

 

theres a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and because i like watching him play i will let him off with confidence..but as said above i think there was a subtle (or not) message to the organisers about what he thought of the whole set up..i would love to know what king was thinking mind, im not sure if he was unimpressed or puzzled by it all

he is class..fact..you can tell by the way he plays the game..he just saunters around potting for fun..he has a natural ability for snooker that most others dont..

world class when hes on form. on a super human level. when he lost a game a while ago his said to john virgo, that game was appauling, i lost. gracious in defeat.... he is awesome though.

 

How is 3 world titles not special though? Only Hendry, Reardon and Davis have more than him. As someone else said, Jimmy White had 6 finals and never won one but it still regarded as one of the greatest. Then there's the next big one the UK championship and all the others he's won.

Personally, I'd settle for a Welsh open title.

I love Ronnie, though his attitude at times isn't ideal he's clearly got a talent. Certianly the most skilled player out there IMO.

How many others could do a 147 on command at a professional event? As stated, he can make pretty much every other player look like they're playing in the juniours section.

 

I really don't think it was about the money. I don't think it ever has been for him. Not sure what the point he was trying to make was but nevermind. He's the most naturally gifted player ever in my opinion and to say that he's not class seems mad. The red to the middle was without a doubt the best shot of that frame.

I think he's fucking amazing, been a fan for a long time and in my opinion there is no other player that is more exciting to watch than him, however I can understand why some people don't like the guy due to the way he comes across sometimes.

I missed the 147 last night and just seen it now, you can't help but admire his skill, It's a good job he did do it though as he would have a looked a bit of a dick if he missed an easy shot after basically saying he's going to do a maximum The cut back on the red to middle was by far the hardest shot he played and he just made it look simple.
