Hi there im new to this so bear with me .

Just the other night i blew the Big end in my mk1.5 focus 1.6 zetec.
The car is an 05 plate with 67000 miles so i am not scrapping it.

Now this is my dilema. If i stick another 1.6 zetec se in will it just use the existing ecu etc ?

Or can i stick a Puma 1.7 zetec se engine in without too much hassles ?

Probably going to do the work myself.

A straight replacement won't cause a problem with the ECU.

Not sure about the Puma swap.

 

As said a straight engine swap will be no problem, for the Puma you would need the associated ECU or a remap of your one if that's possible it can run that engine, if talking racing Puma that has VVT as well.
