idle dropping

Default idle dropping

my idle is dropping off then correcting its self then runs fine for a minute or 2 then it drops off again its like the car wants to stall then the iscv is correcting it am going to check the tps later have checked the iscv and thats fine, any suggestions would be great as the car has never suffered from idle problems b4 its had new leads plugs cap rotor arm etc

What is the base idle? If it's to low the ISCV will bring it up until it drops again and then do the same thing, although this shouldn't have changed unless it's been touched, otherwise as you say check TPS.

no it hadn't been touched mate checked it the other day and all good thinking it must be the tps will check it tonight and see what i get

do you no any places that i can get a new one from burtons wants £90 plus postage or is that about right

Yes there not cheap! The old one probably just needs adjusting, you can measure the output quite easily, the common problem with this is they have a wear spot this usually shows itself in slow moving traffic I.E at partial throttle.

But they are adjustable as well.

At WOT the output should be 5V

ok cant get a decent piont when adjusted i get a load of revs or the idle dropping i just unplugs the iscv utill i can order the the new tps as with the iscv removed it idles at base idle and doesn't drop untill vans cut in but a bit of a flat spot as you go to pull away i run a level 8 so its a pfo9

As it's a L8 look on ebay under DUCATI, 100% EXACT SAME SENSOR right down to the part number, from about £35.
I'd be checking the idle CO if I were you as well.

i just picked it up from the enhanced performance and it was all map and running fine untill the next day when the thing stated to play up thanks for the advise
