Cheers Neil, got your PM. I will leave it up to you whether you want to tell the others what you got it for but that is one hell of a bargain, if you had of paid the full asking price you would have still got a lot of car for the money. Well done you must be really pleased with that .

Nice
There is a 3i thread lurking about on here that I posted in.Top and bottom was I sold my car piss cheap to my mate and he swapped it for one of these,86 4.2 manual cranberry with beige leather.I was gutted !.
If this was sub 2k then I'd think it was a bargain.. with that amount of history and in that condition, its gotta start to be an appreciating classic at some point soon?
Looks MINT!!guy I know does loads with these old girls, not the best on fuel I'd imagine?!!!
there good tbh average 18 around town about 25 on a run my first v12 was on su carbs and that would do 6 around town and about 10 on a run but that was when petrol was around 45p a litre and still used go through Ł200 a week in juice
The 2 4.2 S3's I had would struggle to get 16mpg. Maybe just about top 20 on a good run very occasionally. One of them was a like new minter, the other was a bit of a shed, but compared to modern big engines, these had a REAL thirst. I have no problem getting 28mpg out of a 6.0 Monaro.
Beautiful looking cars the Series 3 though, and appreciating now too. Still remember the day my old man bought his brand new one home. Silver with red leather that one.
I cant see the pics due to work internet filter (arse) but I assume its a Jag like the one out of Lock Stock & 2 smoking barrells? The 1 Vinny Jones drives.
